Radical Instruments

There's so many musical instruments that I wish I could try
Here's a few that are of particular note:

the Thummer
a Controller that displays more expression than any other I've heard of.
it also allows you to use different tunings without changing the arrangement of the buttons!

Reactable
A very intuitive interface that looks so easy to learn they even have pictures of babys playing it!

Monome
Step Sequencer/Synth etc... program it however you will

Mandala
Danny Carey uses these pads

Balloon Bass
If you can make balloon animals... please make me one of these!

Instruments That don't seem to have official names:

Sound Conductor
Seems to work like a theremin... not much of a description for it

Sound Writer
Draw your music, and then play over top of your drawing!

Marble Table
A playing surface ala reactable, divided into grids like the mandala

Fantastic Instruments:

Percussive Balls
Someone will make one of these eventually... I'm sure of it!

Web 2.0

I've been on a big Web 2.0 kick recently, and just wanted to share some links

Findory
This site remembers what news articles/blogs you've read, and can make recommendations based upon them

Del.icio.us
My del.icio.us Account
A social site that lets you tag and store your bookmarks online
I've been basically making sentences out of my tags... (ie watch streaming video)
This makes it extremely easy to locate the bookmark you're searching for (especially in cloud view)
And even though I don't like sidebars for the most part, del.icio.us complete is handy if you've got a del.icio.us account

If you have multiple bookmarks profiles online, you might also be interested in checking out OnlyWire. It has a bookmarklet that makes it easy for you to publish your links and tags to multiple accounts

Last.FM
My Last.FM Account
This site will let you download a plugin that integrates with most mediaplayers (ie. Winamp)
and keeps track of what tunes you've been listening to. It'll also make recommendations on what other artists you might like, and generates a neighbours list (people who have similar tastes)

Upcoming
My Upcoming Account
this site lets you publish information about upcoming events including links to a map to the location of it, images of it, details, and pretty much any other information you care to add.

LibraryThing
My LibraryThing Account
this site lets you make a catalogue of your books,
also lets you tag them with keywords and reviews, as well as find people who have the same books as yourself

PostSecret

PostSecret
is an ongoing community art project where people mail in their secrets anonymously on one side of a homemade postcard.

Some of its readers claim to have gotten closer in touch with themselves by learning about secrets they were keeping without realizing, others claim that revealing secrets about themselves... albeit anonymously seems to make them feel that much more free!

Daily Photo Map

Uniting the world with pictures

Daily Photo Map unites people who take a single picture a day of the city in which they live.
It seems like this would make an ideal way to learn of some scenic spots to check out while visiting a foreign land.

The initial poster of this also noted that this may be one of the better movies to come to London.

I myself have not yet seen the movie, but certainly plan to, even if only for a deeper understanding of the Southpark episode Man-Bear-Pig

Bullfrog Power Home Page - 100% Green Electricity

100% Green power is now available in London, Ontario. Claims have been made that switching to Bullfrog power would cost the average household no more than an additional $12-$13 per month (now that London Hydro raised their prices)!

iMattHome

As an effort to further shrink the internet I'll be posting local and world news that I haven't seen online in syndication (as well as some other sites and information that just happen to catch my eye)

I can envision a simple way to speed read the internet for relevant news and information. It seems technologies like live bookmarks (RSS/Atom Feeds) are making it simple for this to become a reality.

All the news I have found in syndication already, as well as this blog are pushed to iMattHome, but I'll be always searching for more information to publish
